Atomic Ranch Magazine

 Whalin used the Custom Blend Tile Designer to create a unique blend of glass mosaic bijou tiles.

Atomic Ranch Magazine is a quarterly that celebrates the beauty and renewed popularity of ranch homes, an American architectural style popular from the 1930’s to the 1970’s and characterized by simple, single-story designs. In its publications, Atomic Ranch covers topics such as the history of ranch homes, design tips, and the movement to preserve architecture often referred to as being too plain and uninteresting. 

In the Fall 2006 edition, Susan Jablon Mosaics’ glass mosaic tiles were showcased in a kitchen renovation feature. In what we call a ‘gentle renovation’ (upgrading an old home without taking away from its unique period aspects) Susan helped homeowner Kelli Whalin create a bright, festive, retro-inspired kitchen and dining room. 

 

Whalin used the Custom Blend Tile Designer to create a unique blend of bijou tiles. Starting with a base of white (to keep with the white themed kitchen) she added golden yellow, lime green, bright orange, and a few shades of blue. Glass front cabinets gave the kitchen a clean look, while under cabinet lighting made the glass tile backsplash glow, brightening the whole room. Whalin used the Custom Blend Tile Designer to create a unique blend of bijou tiles

 

Using Susan Jablon Mosaics’ glass tiles, Whalin created a fun and bright room and exemplified how incorporating the right blend of glass tiles can transform a ordinary space into a designer room.
